This splendid Antique Suffragette pendant is from the early 20th Century and has a beautiful floral design decorated with Pearls, a Peridot dropper (approx. 0.60ct) and a central flower set with an Amethyst (approx. 0.70ct) which has a halo of Pearl petals.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which were chosen to counter the masculine women’s rights stereotypes put forward by opponents. Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The piece is fashioned expertly in 18ct Yellow Gold and is in excellent condition. It would look fabulous on a Gold chain.
